Public comment sought for Minnesota Climate Change
Advisory Group report
The final report of the Minnesota Climate Change Advisory Group (MCCAG)
is now posted for public review and comment. The charge of MCCAG was to
consider, evaluate, and compile a multi-sector set of recommended policy
options and present them to the Governor and legislature. Appointed by the
Governor, MCCAG comprises a diverse group of stakeholders bringing broad
perspective and expertise to the topic of global warming in Minnesota. Members
represent the following sectors: energy, manufacturing, agriculture, forestry,
tourism and recreation, health care, non-governmental organizations, academia,
and state and local government.
If
you support strong government action to reduce global warming pollution,
please consider viewing the MCCAG report and submitting your comments
in support of strong policy solutions! There are no specific
guidelines for the length or detail of any public comments, only that
comments refer to a specific policy recommended by MCCAG. Fresh Energy
encourages you to speak out in support of global warming solutions!
Citizens are encouraged to read the full
report or Executive
Summary and submit comments on specific policy recommendations.
Comments are being accepted on the Office
of Energy Security and MCCAG websites.
All comments submitted through the website will become part of
the final report to the Governor and legislature.
The public comment period is open until midnight Sunday, April 27,
2008.
